“I feel like I’m back in residency again.”

An ER Doctor sees every day as a lesson and a challenge.

“I’ve been doing emergency medicine since 2002 but in the past few months, I feel like I’m back in residency again. What became an everyday routine is now learning every second, every minute and every hour about how this virus is affecting our patients’ lives. Our oath is to do whatever it takes to save our patients’ lives but during this crisis, we put ourselves at risk. What I’m afraid of is not knowing if I will catch this virus. If I do, will I be able to see my family? Will I get sick to a point where I won’t see my family. I am afraid that I will expose my family and that’s why I have not seen them since this crisis has hit Chicago.”

“ I would say to the people out there, think positively, stay strong. We will get through this together.
