"It gave me hope."

An ICU doctor finds calm amidst the storm in an act of kindness.

“It was a busy hectic day but a different kind of busy—running from one code to another, witnessing the death of my patients who would have survived if it wasn’t for COVID-19. I finally sat down to update my notes and check on my patients’ charts when another code was announced overhead. I did all I could to save the patient. Exhausted, I left my patient's room and saw a sign written on the glass from the nurses: ‘You are a rock star.’ It gave me hope.”
