I’m afraid of leaving my kids by themselves without me.

A Phlebotomy Coordinator discusses the rewards of caring for other people’s family members, and the risk her work poses to her own family.

I want to share this story because our stories need to be shared. We are putting our lives on the line every night, and If something happens to me, my kids will be by themselves with no financial help.

I love the patients, but my health is always a concern. I’m most afraid of leaving my kids by themselves without me.

My happiest moment during the COVID-19 crisis has been taking care of other people’s family members.

My children have been the most influential people in my life during this time. They inspire me to carry on.

Right now, I wish the world knew to listen to the experts and stay at home.
